EspressReport v5.4.1 New Features
- Map Parameters to SQL Statements - For maximum flexibily, EspressReport v5.4.1 users can now map parameters to a SQL statement. They can even incorporate values selected from previous parameter orders in the SQL statement.
- Customized Subreport Query for Linked Subreports - Instead of running a separate query for each subreport instance, this features allow a single query to be specified for all subreport instances. The results are then broken up automatically and used to populate the subreports. This drastically improves performance by reducing the number of database calls.
- Formatted Timestamp in Scheduled Filenames - Scheduled reports will not display clearly formatted timestamps for ease of use.
- 3D Translucent Charts - EspressReport v5.4.1 supports 3D Translucent Charts.
- Open Chart with Backup Data (API Only) - Increase performance by opening the chart with backup data before changing datasource or parameter values.
- Independent Symbol Size in Legend (API Only) - Adjust the symbol size independent of the accompanying text.
- New Gridline Interval Option (API Only) - A new API option is available allowing users to select whether or not to align the intervals along the corresponding axis.
EspressReport v5.4 New Features
- SOAP Data Source - EspressReport v5.4 supports data sources using Service Oriented Architecture Protocol.
- Excel Export Enhancement - Charts and images can now be exported to Excel along with the report.
- Drill Down with Unmapped Parameters - EspressReport now allows users to create drill down reports without mapping every parameter. This feature gives the end user the flexibility to further filter the report at run time.
- A4 Page Size - A simple configuration is available to set report dimensions to A4 standards.
- Using Script Results - Users can now use the resulting value of a script in other scripts. With ER v5.4, it is effortless to add cumulative calculations in reports.
- Date Variables for Parameter Values - Date parameter values can now be filled using a powerful date calculator. The feature makes it easy for users to select a specific date based on calculated values.
- Script Management Enhancements - New navigation buttons allow users to highlight all scripted cells or select scripted cells one by one. As such, it is much easier to manage and update scripts in a report
- Access Subreport Formulas - The main report now has access to subreport formulas.
- Map Parameter Values to Functions - Users can now map parameter values to database function results. The parameter dialogs can now prompt for substring, datediff, stdev, and so on in the parameter value selection box.
- Cross tab Reports Made Easy - The new Fixed Field Cross Tab reports makes assembling cross tab reports a snap. Users still have the ability to customize the labels, data fields, and formulas in the report, but there is no longer a concern about formatting, alignment or positioning when the number of columns grows and shrinks.
- Page Break Based on Row Count - Reports can be configured to break to a new page based on a fixed number of rows. For example, users can create a report that display ten rows of data per page.
- Change Symbol Size in Custom Legend - The symbol size is now automatically resized along with the custom legend text.
- Charts with Gradients - Apply color gradients to add a refreshing look to charts.
- 3D Shading for 2D Charts - Add depth to two dimensional charts with the new shading feature.
- Links in Chart Legend - Insert hyperlinks and drill down links to chart legend text.
- Additional Dial Chart Options - New options are available to improve the look and feel of dial charts.
- Overlay Chart Improvement - It is now possible to adjust the step intervals for different axes in Overlay Charts
- Separate Anti-alias for Chart and Text - In ER v5.4, the user has the option to set anti-alias for chart only.
- Set Color for Negative Top Label - Users now have the ability to set different colors for positive and negative value labels.
- Pie Chart Improvements - Users can now specify a threshold for pie sectors to highlight small slices in a special color.
