Other new features include multiple levels of undo/redo, new gauge templates,
customizable gradients, and rendering options
Santa Clara, CA - April 8th, 2009 -- Quadbase Systems Inc., a leading supplier of web-based business intelligence (BI)/ operational reporting and information delivery/presentation solutions, today announced the release of EspressReport® ES 6.1, EspressReport® 6.1, and EspressChart® 6.1.
The high performance report engine has been greatly enhanced with innovative algorithms and data structures. It can generate very large reports (millions of rows) with minimal system resources and lightning speed. Preliminary benchmarks show that for very large reports, EspressReport outperforms competitive products by a wide margin, typically two to over ten times.
Highlights of new features in EspressReport ES are as follows: DHTML Viewer can now display the first page as soon as it is available while the rest of the report is still being generated. Also in DHTML viewer, new glass pane, progress bar, and page navigator greatly enhance the user-friendliness. The repository database for ERES now supports JNDI which makes porting across various testing and development environments very easy. The scheduler now supports secure FTP. Other new features include support for multiple levels of undo and redo in Report Designer and Chart Designer; more gauge templates and needle styles for gauges and dial charts; flexible translucency settings and customizable gradients; chart data aggregations; and various control on label and ticker options, padding and chart element borders.
EspressReport ES is an enterprise BI/operational reporting application that allows users to easily create, publish, and schedule reports and charts without programming. It also supports KPI dashboards and ad hoc reporting/querying for decision support. Built on top of EspressReport, EspressReport ES is designed for enterprise-wide or Internet based deployment. As such, it provides one of the most comprehensive security/privilege models in the market. Role based secure data filtering is built into both report templates and ad hoc reporting. A robust API is provided for developers who desire further run-time customization.
EspressReport is a powerful tool that comes with an easy-to-use visual designer and API. All charting features in EspressChart are included.
As a cornerstone for EspressReport and EspressReport ES, EspressChart is a versatile development tool in its own right. You can easily create/edit charts using the visual designer and publish the charts with the API.
The products are written in pure Java and run on all platforms that support Java. All commercial Application Servers such as WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic App Server, JBOSS, GlassFish, Tomcat are supported. Data sources can come from all JDBC compliant databases, JNDI, Java classes, XML files, WSDL SOAP, SalesForce SOAP and EJB. Reports can be generated in highly formatted DHTML, print quality PDF, Excel spreadsheets, Rich Text files, and XML and CSV data dumps.
