Support for animated Flash charts, default UTF-8 encoding and rich enterprise features ideal for large scale global deployment
Santa Clara, CA - December 16th, 2009 -- Quadbase Systems Inc., a leading supplier of web-based business intelligence (BI)/operational reporting and information delivery/presentation solutions, today announced the release of EspressReport® ES 6.2, EspressReport® 6.2, and EspressChart® 6.2.
EspressChart, the premier Java charting tool, has been greatly enhanced with the support for animated Flash with adjustable frame rate. All advanced chart features such as drill-down, hyperlink, mouse over hints, gradient, and translucency are maintained in Flash exports. Doughnut chart in both 2D and true 3D, is a welcome addition to the already rich set of chart types. 3D Pie and Doughnut charts are now rendered with realistically smooth edges that rival their 2D counter parts. Other enhancements in charts include user definable "no data" message for a chart, cut corner option for legend and annotation panel, data point symbol border display options, and more control on rendering with gradients.
EspressReport ES is an enterprise BI/operational reporting application that allows users to easily create, publish, and schedule reports and charts without programming. With strong support for KPI dashboards, ad hoc reporting/querying, Google and SVG maps, end-to-end role-based security model, and high scalability, EspressReport ES is ideal for organizations that need to implement a web based enterprise all-in-one reporting system for decision support, performance monitoring/analysis, performance management and control. The administrator's console has been greatly enhanced to facilitate easy configuration of system parameters. A robust API is provided for developers who desire further run-time customization. Built on top of EspressReport and EspressChart, all new enhancements in reports and charts automatically benefit users of EspressReport ES.
EspressReport is a powerful development tool kit for building Java based reporting systems which support simple to complex report types with subreports, drill-downs, charts and template security. It's intuitive report designer and deep level API can satisfy a wide range of Java developers.
New enhancements that benefit all products include the default support for UTF-8 encoding which makes support for internationalization automatic and not through tedious configurations of parameters; custom date formats for parameter prompts; Windows 7 support; and minimized Jar files and installers.
The products are written in pure Java and run on all platforms that support Java. All commercial Application Servers such as WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic App Server, JBOSS, GlassFish, and Tomcat are supported. Data sources can come from all JDBC compliant databases, JNDI, Java classes, XML files, WSDL SOAP, SalesForce SOAP and EJB. Reports can be generated in highly formatted DHTML, print quality PDF, Excel spreadsheets, Rich Text files, and XML and CSV data dumps.
