IDS Scheer AG selects EspressChart as the charting
engine for the latest version of Process Performance Manager™
Santa Clara, California -- May 7, 2001 -- Quadbase Systems,
Inc., a leading supplier of Java™-based reporting and data visualization tools,
today announced that IDS Scheer, a leading enterprise software vendor and
consulting company headquartered in Germany, will utilize EspressChart in
the latest release of their Process Performance Manager, a sophisticated
analytical tool for business processes and systems.
“Process Performance Manager (PPM) automatically identifies
performance data from company processes, especially those which span systems,
and thus makes it possible to analyze them” said Helge Hess, Director of IDS
Scheer AG. “It acts as an early warning system by monitoring business processes.
The information is available through a Web client, and the data is displayed in
business charts. After a careful selection process of available chart
libraries for Java, we decided to use EspressChart because it provides easy
integration of professional charts in our Java application”.
The new version 2.0 of PPM determines key performance
indicators of ongoing IT-supported business processes as they are modeled in
CRM, ERP and SCM systems. These key performance indicators form the basis for
the continuous improvement of these processes. The totally new, intuitive user
interface appeals to technical users, administrative users, and IT managers,
so they can continuously monitor the efficiency of their business processes.
In addition to meaningful overviews, the user can also analyze problem situations
in detail. PPM thus supports the optimization of business processes at
all management levels.
“We are very pleased that IDS Scheer has chosen EspressChart
for their Process Performance Manager,” remarked Fred Luk, President of Quadbase
Systems. “They join the long list of global companies that have recognized
EspressChart as the market leader in Java-based charting”.
EspressChart enables Java and Web developers to easily create and
configure professional looking charts with the simple point-and-click Chart Designer
interface. Charts and chart templates can be incorporated directly into HTML
pages, or into applets, servlets, JSPs and applications using EspressChart's powerful,
yet easy to use object oriented API. Charts can be published as interactive applets,
or viewed as static images - EspressChart supports most popular image formats including
GIF, PNG, and JPEG. EspressChart offers over 30 2D and 3D chart types, and supports
advanced statistical analysis with histograms, Pareto charts, box charts, normal
distribution curves, and trendlines. With seamless data connectivity, and pure
Java architecture, EspressChart can produce charts from virtually any data source,
for virtually any platform.
