Quadbase Systems Announces EspressReport® ES v4.5

New ERES edition offers powerful new ad-hoc reporting, security, and dashboard deployment features.

Santa Clara, CA –- August 25, 2006 -- Quadbase Systems, a leading supplier of Java™ -based information delivery and presentation solutions, today announced the release of EspressReport® ES 4.5.  The new enterprise server edition offers a host of new features and configuration options.

Ad-hoc reporting functionality has been increased significantly in the new version.  In addition to building queries and reports in the thin-client QuickDesigner interface, users can now create charts as well.  Data can be filtered based on the security level of the user.  These new features allow users to create full-formed data presentations in a simple, easy-to-use, thin-client interface with role based security.  Reports and charts created in this interface can be saved, published, and re-opened for further modification.

EspressReport ES v4.5 also includes a new self-service dashboard presentation feature.  Using a simple thin-client interface users can easily put together key pieces of pertinent information to create compelling dashboard presentations using any of the reports and charts that have been deployed in the system.  The dashboard presentation takes all the selected reports and charts and displays them in a single page, giving users a quick snapshot of the data that is most important to them.  Common filters can be applied to all dashboard elements, allowing users to quickly "dial-in" to specific ranges of data.  Drill-down can be added to any of the dashboard items, allowing users to quickly drill into important figures for more detailed information.

In addition EspressReport ES v4.5 includes a new dynamic DHTML report viewer that has been added to the publishing components.  This interface allows users to view and interact with the report performing filtering, sorting, grouping, and aggregation in a simple thin-client interface.  Report bursting features have been added to the scheduling components, allowing large reports to be automatically sectioned based on grouped data and delivered separately to different users/groups in a single schedule execution.  In addition Clustering support has been added for JBoss and WebSphere.

The core of EspressReport ES is Quadbase’s powerful Java reporting engine.  EspressReport is a strong fifth generation tool that contains the advanced reporting features that enterprise users demand.  Reports can be generated in highly formatted DHTML, print quality PDF, Excel spreadsheets, Rich Text files, and XML and CSV data dumps.  Layout options allow reports to be constructed with multiple tables, with built-in interactive drill-down capabilities.  Advanced scripting/formula features allow users to embed custom logic directly into report templates.
