More enhancements to make the reporting/charting tools leaders of the pack
Santa Clara, CA – August 25, 2006 -- Quadbase Systems, a leading supplier of
Java-based information delivery and presentation solutions, today announced the availability of
EspressChart v5.2 and EspressReport v5.2.
EspressChart and EspressReport have been chosen by many well-known and successful
organizations over 35 countries to power their web applications with presentation quality reports and
charts for many years. Responding to user feedback, the development team at Quadbase Systems Inc. has
been relentless in innovating and enhancing the feature sets of these tools.
New Features in EspressReport include cascading parameters where users can control
the order in which users select parameter prompts; enhanced XML formats for report specifications which
include sub-reports and drill-down reports as well; dynamic arrays in scripting; query time out and class
file data source support for report designer API.
EspressChart New Features include dial charts drawn as half-circle; radar chart circular
grid; radar chart control/constant Lines; radar chart max cut-off point; max cut-off for scatter charts;
titles for multiple axes specified in API; control area scale labels; and customizing image map hint box with
API. All EspressChart features are included in EspressReport.
Both EspressChart and EspressReport are written in 100% pure Java, allowing users to develop
and deploy professional-looking reports and charts across virtually any platform. With the robust API, users can
easily integrate reporting into servlets, JSPs, and applications to deliver Web and print ready content on the
fly. EspressChart allows users to export charts in a variety of graphic formats including PNG, GIF, JPEG,
WMF, BMP, SVG, PDF and Flash while EspressReport can generate reports in HTML/DHTML, text, CSV, XML, Rich Text,
PDF, and Excel formats. They both work well with most Java-compatible application servers including Tomcat, JBOSS,
WebLogic™, WebSphere™, Oracle Application Server™ and Sun Application Server.
